I will be doing "Um" from Alice in Wonderland for Book/Movie Day during our Halloween contest.
Here's a picture from http://hollywoodmoviecostumesandprops.blogspot.com/2010/10/alice-in-wonderland-dresses-and-stayne.html that I found the most helpful for figuring out how this costume was constructed. I'll be logging my progress on my Alice and Wonderland page. I've got the skirt half done so far, and I'm super pleased and excited!
This is by no means done, but it's a start - and considering it's completely without a pattern and the fact that I've never made one before... not bad so far.

Jewelry
Jewelry seems to be taking over my life right now, but soon it will return to costumes for Halloween. One of my girlfriends is coming over this weekend and we'll hopefully be sewing together on Sunday, so I'll have more posts for then. But, for now, a few pictures. Feel free to travel over to the jewelry tab for a more in depth look at it all.

Twilight Princess: Link
So, at my fabric store, we're doing a week of Halloween celebration this year, which means the employees get to dress up, too. I work five days, so I'll be dressing up in five themed costumes. One of which will be Link from the Twilight Princess video game. Here is a Google image of Link for reference.
I'm trying to stay as true to what he actually looks like as possible instead of going for a kelly green tunic and white pants, I'm trying for hunter green and cream pants. I'm thinking that I might even tea-dye the linen I'm using for the pants to make them look lived in. So far the process has gotten as far as picking out the fabrics I will use and starting on the accessories. I work with leather, so I'll be constructing his belts, the two bags he wears on his waist-belt, his sheath, gauntlet, and gloves. Hopefully all of that will be done in time. I've picked out my leathers and dye to make them all coordinate.
As of right now, I'm working on his bottles. :) You now what I'm talking about. Link can find a maximum of four bottles in the video games and he can carry lantern oil, milk, potions, and fairies in them to help him out.... I'll be making the bottle to carry.
